12 Degrees of Fire: Land of Fire

12 Degrees of Fire:  Land of Fire

12 Days of 42

What is it about fire that's so lovely? No matter what age we are, what draws us to it?...The thing man wanted to invent, but never did...If you let it go on, it'd burn our lifetimes out. What is fire? It is a mystery. Scientists give us gobbledygook about friction and molecules. But they don't really know. Its real beauty is that it destroys responsibility and consequences.”

Land of Fire...update

Lately I notice synchronicity in my life. Synchronicity according to Carl Jung is when the inner personal thoughts, feelings and or experience are mirrored in the external world simultaneously.  This cause a sort of strange coincidence.  Jung did not believe that is was merely coincidence, but felt that the phenomenal world(outside) somehow was effected by a personal experience.  According to science this could not be verified and or proved.  Strange occurance happen in the external world seem to mirror the internal world.  A person must be open and looking for these little winks of the universe to actually have this experience.  Native American Shaman would be the first to tell you that this absolutely a true event.  Here is my world and experience lately.
For example, I teach high school literature.  The last two novels have had the theme of fire.  Mostly they are about destruction by fire.  Fahrenheit has a beautiful way to make fire destructive and redeeming.
Fire could be a theme in my life also.  Obviously I have devoted time each day for 42 days to address many aspects of my passion.  I am also a fire sign.  Yet it seems as this is becoming a more strange obsession.  Either way if it promotes a sort of creative outlet, or expression then what is the big deal.

Cetonia Aurata or the Golden Scarab

What is Synchronicity?
The term synchronicity is coined by Jung to express a concept that belongs to him. It is about acausal connection of two or more psycho-physic phenomena. This concept was inspired to him by a patient's case that was in situation of impasse in treatment. Her exaggerate rationalism (animus inflation) was holding her back from assimilating unconscious materials. One night, the patient dreamt a golden scarab - cetonia aurata. The next day, during the psychotherapy session, a real insect this time, hit against the Jung's cabinet window. Jung caught it and discovered surprisingly that it was a golden scarab; a very rare presence for that climate.

It all seems to align and collide all at the same time.  My life doesn't feel like a scattered puzzle, but more like a whole sphere revolving around some pulsating benevolent source.
